Precision Engineered Products (PEP) has completed acquisition of Advanced Precision Products (APP) business divisions Holmed, HowesTemco, Premco and Profiles. The four brands augment PEP’s robust manufacturing solutions portfolio with complex metal machining and cold forming capabilities. End applications range from surgical drill guides to oil sand screens.
The groups bring to Precision Engineered Products a highly complementary customer base that extends PEP market reach into upstream oil and gas, and strengthen the PEP position in the aerospace, automotive and medical markets.
“Precision Engineered Products customers are confronted by an era of increasingly complex product ecosystems,” said John Manzi, president and CEO of Precision Engineered Products LLC. “PEP now offers a more compelling value proposition for clients who require scalable manufacturing solutions, from components to finished devices, with the streamlined SCM that a single supplier provides.”
Holmed manufactures orthopedic surgical instruments including hip, knee, shoulder, and spine instruments, as well as spinal implants. HowesTemco produces medical machined parts and complex assemblies. Premco manufactures multi-axis, close tolerance machined parts with a specialization in difficult-to-form metals. Profiles cold rolls and cold draws a variety of metals into precise shapes with tight tolerances.
The Holmed, HowesTemco, Premco and Profiles business units will continue to operate in their state-of-the-art Massachusetts facilities and remain under the leadership of Jeff Buck, group president. “Precision Engineered Products brings significant value to our customers in the form of additional resources and vertical integration opportunities,” said Mr. Buck. “At the same time, APP’s expertise in the areas of metal machining and cold forming afford a greater range of engineering and manufacturing solutions for Precision Engineered Products clients. We’re excited to be joining forces.”
